A young, innocent girl gets lost while walking through a dark grove/clearing. She meets a Cossack riding a gray horse. She asks him to guide her back to the road because she’s young and doesn’t know the paths. He teases her playfully (implying her “lost” state might not be entirely accidental), then invites her to “give in to the persuasion” and offers to lead her out — with a clear double meaning that he’ll make her “wander” (both literally and romantically/sexually).

It’s a short, dialogue-driven narrative of an unexpected romantic encounter in the wilderness.

Main theme: Playful courtship and seduction. The song uses the classic Ukrainian folk motif of the “lost maiden” meeting a charming Cossack to explore innocence meeting experience, temptation, and the thrill of getting “led astray.” The “road/path” imagery works on two levels: physical guidance through the forest and the metaphorical loss of innocence or surrender to romantic desire. It’s light-hearted, flirtatious, and carries a subtle erotic undertone, which is very typical of traditional Ukrainian “pisni” (folk songs) about village girls and Cossack lovers.
